I Love You this Much
April 2006 @ the Douglass art School, Murphysboro, Illinois.
For my first solo exhibition I threw a fake funeral party. Included was a casket, a viewing room, a
body, and mourners. The first images are of Sleeping Beauty. The second set are of the mourners, also
known as The Fillers.

Thanks to Sarah Vaughn for lying in the casket all night long. I encouraged her to take
breaks however she insisted she was rather comfortable in the casket. Viewers, without
encouragement, began leaving gifts for the "deceased" (a bracelet and money). For her outfit
I had to customize a thrift store dress. The object was to make the deceased look like a
doll, youthful and feminine.
Thanks to The Fillers: Jason Wonnel, Ashely Weihler, Stephanie Lamb, and Jack (that's right just
Jack). All their costumes were a combination of their own or thrift store cltohes that I touched
up with cemetery flowers. The Fillers gathered in the viewing room every 15 minutes to lighten
the mood with humor and mock mourning traditions.

These are just general images of the fun that was had. The show turned into a party, a really laid back party.
